Two bolt seat posts

Two bolt seat posts are almost essential for brooks saddles, where the tilt adjustment is important. Two bolt posts allow for very fine adjustment, and often a small change in tilt, can have a dramatic effect on comfort.

Two bolt seat posts are also stronger, and won't slip, while single bolt seat posts can slip if not tightened excessively. This is particularly true for heavier riders.

Wherever possible, I always try and put two bolt seat posts on my bikes, despite what some bike shops will claim about there being no need to do so. It may cost a little more, but the advantages are well worth it.

The best two bolt seatpost I've ever used is the Nitto S-83. It's strong, and gorgeous to look at. The only downside is that it's a little pricey.
