Packing list for a tour

This is what I take on overnight trips. If it's winter, I'll take an extra thick jumper and a thicker sleeping bag. For more days on the road, I'd just increase clothes a litte. Everything else would stay the same.

Packing list:

* water resistant jacket
* 2 pairs spare underwear
* 1 thick pair of socks for sleeping
* 1 pair of socks for riding
* 2 t-shirts
* shorts
* beach towel
* 1 washing towel (small)
* 1 foldable stool
* Campingaz cooking attachment and gas
* 2 instant noodles
* 8 instant coffee sachets
* 1 spoon, 1 fork, a knife
* 4 disposable chopsticks for the noodles
* 1 cup
* 1 small saucepan (like a billy can)
* 1 small frying pan
* 1 flat plate
* 1 stainless steel bowl (optional)

* firelighters (optional)

I wear a pair of cycling shorts, a t-shirt, socks, SPD shoes, cycling gloves.

Tools:
I always overpack tools. It seems to make certain that I won't have any mechanical issues. That in itself is worth the weight.
* cassette removal tool
* chainwhip
* crank remover
* small size adjustable shifter
* spoke key
* 2 spare tubes
* pliers
* spare spokes
* allen wrench multi-tool
* tyre levers

It is a Fair amount of Stuff to carry. I like your Chinese Coolies Straw Hat,how do you manage to keep it from being bashed up in the Panniers. I have those ortlieb Panniers myself,nice and big and also Waterproof.
I have Two Old Karrimoor Panniers which are smaller in size so I never use them now but they are Resting on my Hardtail Hybrid. The last time I went Touring I left the Folding Stool behind as I did not want the inconvenience of the Weiight. Is there many big Hills on your Trip where you are going curious. Good Luck on your Tour.

The straw hat goes on top of everything. None of my current pics show it clearly. It's on top, towards the back. I'll take a better photo when im out on tour.

Yes, it's very hilly. So perhaps i should carry less, but i am the sort of person that would rather carry my stuff up hills, then get there without some things. But that's just me.

Time to catch the train and get riding :)

Do you think bringing the chair is worth it? I've never brought one on any of my past tours and nver really needed it. I thought about it in the beginning, but the time to use it just never came up. I always just sit on park benches, tree trunks, rocks, grass, etc. I was just curious if you found carrying the chair worth the struggle of bringing it along.

And what do you think the thin blanket for? It that in case your sleeping bag is not warm enough? Or is it just to go under the sleeping bag so it doesn't get dirty?

Darren:
The chair i take is very light, and small. It's not strictly necessary, but I find it very convenient to sit on when cooking. See the photo linked below:

The blanket is very thin and light, and yes, it's because my sleeping bag is not very warm. I have a warmer, thicker sleeping bag, but it's not necessary now that we're between seasons. So I find that the lighter sleeping bag, with the thinner blanket is a good compromise. Of course I can not use the blanket if it's not cold enough. On the weekend it was quite cold at night though down in the Southern Highlands, so I was grateful for the blanket.
