Kate's new bike - Sparta Country Bike (Dutch bike)

Kate got a new bike recently. It's a Sparta Country bike, from the Netherlands. I picked it up for her second hand off ebay, delivered from Perth.

It's a terrific bike for commuting around on. Kate has a touring bike (Fuji Touring, heavily modified), but wants the dutch bike for going around town for dinner and stuff like that, while wearing nice clothes. Since we went on our tour in the Netherlands in 2007, Kate has lusted after this sort of bike.

Features:
* 28" wheels
* dynamo hub, powering the front light
* hub brakes, front and rear
* 3 speed SRAM hub
* rear rack with rubber straps
* sit up and beg riding position
* fully enclosed chain-case and skirt guard
* wicker front basket (quick release)
* bell
* comfy saddle
* flat pedals
* integrated wheel lock
* kickstand

The only downside to this bike is the lack of low gears. This is probably because of how flat the Netherlands is. I may have to lower the gearing. 3 gears is enough, but currently they are too high, and she's never using the highest one.

Since getting the bike, her tourer isn't getting much work!
